The Virtual Technology Cluster Group Spring 2017 Update

Since the turn of the year we have been busy and we wanted to share some our activities with you.

Successful Fundraise:

At the end of February, we completed a successful fundraise through the Funderbeam platform and exceeded our fundraising target.

New Cyber VTC Members:

We are happy to announce that we have researched and signed up as members a whole new range of exciting SMEs that have now been added to our cyber security cluster. We currently have a total of 110 curated SMEs with this number growing month by month.

Our latest SME to join is a company called Immersive labs, which encourages the workforce through combining gamification and social features that develop practical cyber skills. This Company engages people in cyber security allowing employees to increase their capabilities and confidence when under attack, as well as spot hidden talent that could fill cyber security roles.

Current Projects:

On the 27th of February we launched the Healthcare VTC in partnership with Deloitte. Our analysts have been researching and building this cluster highlighting the most exciting new innovations in healthcare. We have attracted interest from other large corporates hoping to join Deloitte as Co-Sponsors, and are preparing to launch with a pool of 300+ SMEs eager to solve business challenges faced by our Sponsors.

We have recently completed a project to find innovative tech firms for our Pharmaceutical client, GSK in order to significantly accelerate the deployment Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) across their Supply Chains. Working alongside the GSK team, we ran a process that uncovered over 250 tech companies – shortlisting the most appropriate of these to 20 who were then invited to a workshop day with the GSK project stakeholders and the VTC innovation teams. As a result of this process, 6 companies have been progressed to the next stage and 3 of these are now having contract discussions  with a view to begin work on a multinational project.

Currently we are delivering a project for Unilever in order to help them solve two specific cyber challenges. We will share more on this in our next update.

What is Next?

Our analysts are also focusing their efforts on the Retail space and have begun exploring this industry sector. So far there have been some really interesting discoveries and we are looking forward putting these into action.

Lastly, we are in the initial phases of building up a potential real estate cluster. Here we are looking to facilitate the development of smart buildings.

Within the next couple of months, VTC Group will undertake a comprehensive rebrand to better align with the needs and ambitions of our members. Following feedback from our members and other stakeholders, we will rename the company and we will keep you all updated.
