Auriol was appointed CEO and Director of the VTC Group in July 2015 and currently manages the Cyber and Healthcare Virtual Technology Clusters. Auriol is also a Director at Restoration Partners, the Technology Merchant Bank, that works alongside visionary entrepreneurs in the dynamic, high-value, technology sector. Auriol has recently been appointed as a member of the Advisory Board for the Institute for Security Science and Technology, Imperial College London where she will help to shape the Institute’s strategy and connect its work to key cross-sector stakeholders and networks in the UK and abroad. Auriol is also an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (ACSI) and a registered and approved GrowthAccelerator coach. Auriol graduated with an LLB Honours Degree from Sussex University in 2005.
Mike joined the VTC Group in 2015 as part of the founding team. Mike has been involved in the venture capital and private equity fund management space since 2000 with 3i plc, YFM Group, Electra and Acuity Capital and has led multiple transactions ranging from seed through to exit across a range of sectors.
Ken Olisa, OBE
Ken is Founder and Chairman of Restoration Partners, the boutique technology merchant bank and architects of the Virtual Technology Cluster model. An IT industry veteran (IBM and Wang Laboratories) he is a director of Thomson Reuters. He is also on the board of The Institute of Directors. His pro-bono activities include chairing Thames Reach, Shaw Trust and the Powerlist Foundation. He is Her Majesty the Queen’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London.
Head of Operations
Alexis began her career at Prudential Assurance where she took her post graduate marketing exams. She worked in a number of industries, including publishing and retail, before joining Restoration Partners in 2006 as a founding member of staff. Alexis has been working on the Leidos VTC since its inception and then launch in 2015 and is now Head of Operations for the VTC Group. She has a degree in French and Management from Reading University.
James is a partner at John Moore & Co and a founding partner of the VTC group. James is passionate about technology transfer and gained an understanding of its potential importance to the UK whilst working with Allied Minds, a US based Technology Company, initially helping them raise $100 pre IPO in 2013 before aiding with their IPO on the LSE in June 2014. James is a keen sportsman and loves travelling. He has previously worked at Savills and Legal and General, is MRICS qualified and has passed Level 1 of the CFA Program.
John is a City veteran and entrepreneur with over 25 years’ experience. He is Chief Executive of John Moore & Co, an investment advisory business and was a founding partner in Execution Limited, which was sold to Banco Espirato Santo in 2010. John continues to create, advise and source finance for several businesses focussing on technology, oil and gas and government consultancy.
Michael is a seasoned veteran of the banking and technology industries with over 30 years of experience working in both the US and UK. Currently, Michael acts as an advisor and venture investor to Alpha Venture Partners, a technology focused venture capital firm based in New York. Prior to this Michael has held a number board level positions at technology companies, including being CEO and later Chairman of Chyron Corporation overseeing its merger to become ChyronHego, as well as, CEO of Data Broadcasting Corporation and a Director of Financial News Network. In banking Michael was a co-founder and director of London-based boutique investment bank Stephen Rose and Partners, prior to which he worked in Institutional sales and the investment division of Paine Webber and Schroder’s Bank respectively. Michael studied at Eton College and graduated with a BA Hons. in Modern History from Birmingham University.
Janice Munday, CBE
Prior to joining the VTC Group in 2016, Janice Munday was Director of Advanced Manufacturing and Services for the UK Department of Business Innovation and Skills where she was responsible for working with a wide range of companies across multiple sectors to encourage growth and productivity as part of the UK’s Industrial Strategy. Janice foresaw the need for large and small businesses to work closer together to achieve excellence when she developed and delivered the innovative Advanced Manufacturing Supply Chain Initiative (AMSCI – 2012-2015). Additional highlights from her previous roles as a civil servant, include bringing in the right to request flexible working in 2002 and championing for more female executives in senior positions in UK business.
Director of Technology
Brad has over twenty-years of experience in advanced programmes for Lockheed Martin starting as a lead engineer for the Landsat imaging satellite programme to his most recent position as the Corporate Vice President of Technology in the US and Corporate Vice President of Engineering and Technology in the UK. During his tenure at Lockheed Martin, Brad has led research and development initiatives around the world and with UK universities and industry. He is also presently a Ph.D. candidate in Neuroscience at the University of Maryland’s School of Medicine in Baltimore and his research, in collaboration with the Gatsby Computational Neuroscience Unit at University College London. Brad joined the VTC Group in 2016 and focuses on creating new start-up companies, advising the VTC portfolio members, and shaping new Virtual Technology Clusters.
Elena graduated from Manchester University in 2013 having studied a BSC(hons) Marketing degree. She began her career at Marks and Spencer Plc on the Marketing Graduate Scheme in 2013 and has worked as a PR Associate in 2015 within the hospitality and retail industry before joining the VTC Group in 2016.
Ollie joined the VTC Group in the summer of 2016 as a Research Analyst, bringing his enthusiasm for technology and knowledge of innovation to the role. Ollie graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2015 with a BA in English Literature. Following graduation he worked for a start-up app developer, before taking on a role in Digital Marketing for FST Marketing. Prior to joining the VTC Group, Ollie spent time travelling China and South-East Asia to further his knowledge of innovation and development.
Our advisory board includes some renowned blue chip investors with a wealth of experience that extends across the investment spectrum. With backgrounds in private equity, venture capital, and fund management the VTC Group is able to draw upon their networks, knowledge and understanding of how to grow businesses and make them a success. Being sector agnostic, this mix of experience in multiple sectors, including, technology, energy, finance, business services, media and property, enables the group to remain agile and flexible in targeting and executing on exciting and disruptive technological changes occurring across most, if not all industries at present.
